hi! thanks for such a quick response Smile

..there doesn't seem to be a subs folder. am i right in guessing that they're built in then, which means i'd need to watch the film with them?

If there is a different folder with the movie called .str you can just delete it and they will be gone, if not it means they are encoded onto the file which is stupid and a pain and you are stuck with them.

You can use a different player, such as VLC to disable the subs like this:

If the file you downloaded happen to be a .mkv you can also use MKVToolNix to delete the subs permanently like this:

if you provided a link to the files summary page we could possibly be able to tell you if they are hardcoded or not, though if you are unable to disable them they likely are.

oh no, really!! i'm pretty embarrased. haha. i would've sat through the film with unwanted subtitles, after having downloaded the 6.7GB file for 3 days!
Instead i can now watch the film and really enjoy it! it's been a pleasure getting help and support from you. thanks

Glad that it worked out for the better, know how frustrating it is to watch something with subs, especially in a language you don't know! Damn hardcoding bastards....

trollster, you really should try VLC, it's great Smile
