Offshore hosting anyone?

Not really blaming our ISP, but although we try to work something out other than the last resort of moving servers, I would be interested in buying offshore hosting at a reasonable price. Hosting in the US is just too much trouble.

If you, or someone you know, can offer hosting services for isohunt.com, we will offer exclusive advertising deals to promote for such hosting company as a partnership.

If the hosting is not offshore, I will need comfirmation that it is not going to bent just from a threat letter. I have said that isohunt.com will filter out certain links on DMCA complaint, so not even that would be a problem (think Google). As long as there is a host who understands the issue and is willing to work with us.

Thanks for any possible leads. Requirement for dedicated server is 1 gb ram and around 500 gb bandwidth / month. Price I'm looking at is $100 - $200 / month.

I think I have an option.

My website http://SaberStrike.com [is sucks but it's hosting a forum for a club I belong to] Is hosted by http://VCSweb.com.

Maybe they can help they are located in Australia.

It's a smaller company and has had some of their sites they hosted slashdotted and they never when down.

I'm allowed extra info on the company because my mother and her husband run it.

If this works for you say "Drezliok" sent us, I get about 15 U.S. dollars for it. [I live in the USA]

I doubt that there are many hosting companys in Australia who aren't re-selling hosting from the US.... http://VCSweb.com looks to be a *very* basic hosting company (I can't even find where there servers are) that don't offer what you want (cept for $15 Rolling Eyes

you need to check out server in The Netherlands. I know some people that moved their server off shores for various reason and many have had good luck with that country. One website I visit that probably has as much if not more traffic than here just recently moved their server to The Netherlands, although I am unaware as to what company they are using.

Their servers run off Linux[I forget which distro] right there in the shop where they also fix VCRs. Anyways It's an option. Just trying to help.

Drezliok, I don't see any any plan with more than 100 mb shared hosting. That's not enough. Unless you can ask your parents whether a special plan can be arranged for the dedicated server specs I indicated (preferably running on Debian)

I'm an italian guy and maybe u could try to look there to put your offshore dedicated server.

Take a look:

The page is in italian but specifications about the server are easy to understand. Each server has 1 gb of ram and 500 gb btw/month included.
Price is 200€/month.

Think about it, also because in Italy law is not so oppressive yet. I ran an opennap server so I can understand what copyright means...

Looks good. Do you have association with the host, or you know someone who I can talk to about special deals? Coz 500 gb / month may not be enough later, and we want to offer promotion here in exchange for some discount.

I don't know anyone directly. I know them 'cause my father hosts his website there and I know they work good.

Anyway price for more gb/month is cheap, 3€/gb, and maybe could be a good idea trying to speak directly with them. International advertising is always well accepted in these cases, above all if it could increase business of the host.

Anyway, I can talk to my father to raise more information.
