Dead Space Language Problem **FIXED**

Found a fix which will turn your language to English if you accidentally clicked another language on the selection screen.

Give credit where credit is due!

Easy Method :(thanks Vertigo RT)
Step 1 : go to C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Electronic Arts

Open file settings.txt

edit the line that states locale = ## where ## is not the language you want. Replace the ## with en than save the file.

Other Method :(thanks Mikbert)
Step 1 : Press Start, Run, type regedit and hit enter

go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Dead Space\1.0

right click on language than choose modify and change the number to 0

Step 2 : go to DRIVE_LETTER:\Dead Space\text\

open the file localetable.txt

press Ctr + A and then Backspace

Copy this code into the file (replacing the previous text)

My Method :

Delete all folders beside the "en" folder

Step 2 : go to DRIVE_LETTER:\Dead Space\text\

open the file localetable.txt

press Ctr + A and then Backspace

Copy this code into the file (replacing the previous text)

Did you guys save the iso file? Just remove the game, and install it again with the correct language. Play around with it, if all else fails, just download the game again.

To change difficulties you need to start a new game.

uhh yea i tryed the code it gets rid of the diferent lang but when i run the exe file there is no text or speech i tried deleteing the game and then re extractin. but when i tried to delete it it wudnt let me delete support file for some odd reason so i left it there.......when i had it re-extracted again i ran it and it was in russian again i did the code and now there was no text or speech again. next i tried deleting everything except for support because it wont f**k off XD i PERMANNENTLY removed it off my comp then re downloaded the torrent off of here i extracted again but when i ran it it was still in russian i didnt get the choose lang screen or anything i tried putting in the code ONCE more BUT it jus took away the text and speech I ALSO tried writing the code diferently instead of like

i did it i changed the TEXT only not speech but text to english from watever lang it was

Can someone PLEASE help me?? I picked the wrong language, tried to delete game, reinstalled, SAME LANGUAGE!! Tried removing entire game, re-downloaded torrent, re-installed, now getting message to "SETUP FAILED....Delete game, extract archive, run setup.bat again" I have done this, I have tried registry cleaner, clean up, looking for any old dead space files...I am stumped!!! Please any advice would help!!!!

Okay, so i found a much simpler way around all this...
"How to change the language back to english if you accidentally clicked a different language just like I did.
Just browse to: C:\Documents and Settings\(Your User Name)\Local Settings\Application Data\Electronic Arts
now open the settings.txt file and change the locale = ru (ru is russian, might be different depending on which you clicked on) to locale = en.

there's another way around this. Start, Run, type regedit hit enter HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\Dead Space\1.0 right click on language choose modify then change the number to 0 then Dead Space\text\

open the file localetable.txt remove current code and replace with 6
