Peers refers to the total number of people sharing a file.
Seeders is the number of people that have 100% of the file and are only uploading it.
Leechers is the number of people still sucking the data from the seeders.
The higher the ratio of seeders to leechers , generally the better the health of the torrent.
have a read of this, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_vocabulary
and next time please take a moment to consider the best place to post your question as this really doesn't have anything to do with peerguardian or peerblock. |

Did you read the start of the thread it gives you a link
to Peerblock ....Peerblock has nothing to do with VLC lol. get Peerblock
here http://www.peerblock.com/ ....Some people have Peerblock running all the time others just have it on when running uTorrent ...What Peerblock does is block bad Ips connecting to you the ones that might complain to your isp on what your downloading....Just remember nothing is a 100% safe ...

By selecting appropriate lists of "known bad" computers, you can block communication with advertising or spyware oriented servers, computers monitoring your p2p activities, computers which have been "hacked", even entire countries! They can't get in to your computer, and your computer won't try to send them anything either. |

I went to download it and to the other site I-Block and got nervous. I don't understand how to add the lists from I-Block to the program once it downloads and I am afraid the program may stop my mom's work programs from working and then I will have to go and add codes and allow stuff in order for her programs to work and frankly I am not that comfortable messing with things I don't understand.
Thanks |

Hi mage_1227, PeerBlock will get the lists and update itself everytime you start it. As you're using uTorrent get this and run it once a day it will put the blocklists directly into uTorrent for you. http://isohunt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=224613&
As for your mom having problems it's very simple, just turn PeerBlock off!! |

Peerblocks main program has been updated
| Quote: |
Here it is, PeerBlock 1.1, released November 22, 2010!
This is a Stable Release of PeerBlock. It includes many bugfixes and a few new features over our last PeerBlock 1.0 Stable Release, and should work great on Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 (plus server variants), both 32- and 64-bit versions. New Stable 1.1.x bugfix releases should come out every few months from here on in, but new feature development releases will be PeerBlock 1.1 |

I have Bt Guard and when i connect it is fine, but when i run PeerBlock (new 1.1) it disconnects me. This did not happen before, im not sure wether it is PB or something i did or need to do. Below is the screen that appears, once this has happened i have to close PB and Utorrent for it to reconnect, Or is it that i dont need to run PB while connected to BT Guard.? Any help would be appreciated.

You will not need run peerblock if you use Bt Guard because its not your real ip showing up in utorrent when using Bt Guard.. |

Whats the worst that can happen to the average downloader if you don't have peerblock? |

you could be sued either way if you are downloading copyrighted material but with peerblock the known bad IP's are blocked, though nothing is 100% effective.
your speeds may also be better with it since the bad ones aren't connecting too you. |

I think you have "Allow HTTP" checked, then it's yellow/orange, if it's disable it's blue |
