so I guess it's on to plan B...anybody have one?
[EDIT]
Would words like child indecency, vunerable, poor taste etc do anything?
Damn we need a good lawyer. |
Hey djdezzie, good job bringing this to our attention, kudos to you, I joined your facebook group and sent out invites....now onto plan b.
I am pretty much a luddite when it comes to this sort of thing but surely there must be a few hackers out there that could take down this site, ping it to death or load it up with viruses, trojans,et al |

hello Dave,
I'm a reporter for a news site called the Register.co.uk - based in London.
I've been contacted about your Facebook group and campaign and wanted to ask some questions.
unfortunately i leave work at 4pm our time - about 3 in the morning your time...so talking on the phone will be tricky.
Can you tell me how you found this site? Who have you complained to so far, and what responses have you got?
I didn't get far with a Whois lookup - do you know who is behind the site or where it is based?
many thanks, and good luck
john
you can either contact me through facebook or my direct mail is **************
cheers Dave Copperthwaite 19 March at 06:42
John
Firstly thank you for taking the time to contact us.
I am a active member of the file/torrent sharing site www.isohunt.com
They were recently accused of allowing child pornography to be downloaded through their search engines. This of course was not true and during a forum conversation one of the admin was venting his anger and said that rather than CRIA slandering torrent groups they should spend time clsoing sites like www.tinymodels.net.
After clicking this site I was horrified to see the front page. I then agreed that I would start a Facebook group and have this removed ASAP. I must confess in my ignorance I did not think this would evolve as it has.
I soon realized that I was not experienced to deal with this and have now recruited people from various backgrounds such as child care and IT experience to help.
We initially reported the site to the Internet watch foundation (IWF). Copy of reply can be seen if you click the info tab in the FB group. We received a reply withing 24 hours saying although questionable this site did not show anything illegal. One of our members chose to delve further and came up with 5 offshoots from this site that lets say are more than explicit.
These have now been reported to http://www.acma.gov.au who are the Aussie web cops. (copy of letter also on INFO page) and the IWF (again).
We have also contacted leaseweb who host the site but only had a " we will forward this on" type reply.
We have had one of our IT guys trace the IP addys and they are scattered. Although it does all seems to point back to one company www.magic12.com who have over various sites registered all as shocking as the first. Theres a IP diagram in the pictures section of the FB Group.
We have our own forum now with 12 people that are working on this with various backgrounds. I get 10-20 msgs a day now in my FB mail that I choose to answer the best I can.
Ill be frank. If I had known the can of worms I was opening I probably wouldn't of started. Now that I have had so much support and so many kind words I am in it for the long haul.
I am not a activist but this just made me mad.
Please feel free to contact me here or on my email
********************
should you wish to chat about this on the phone let me no a time and I will make myself available.
Regards
David |

Glad someone in the media took interest, that's probably the best and most direct route to getting something done. As I said before when I brought this up, I did so knowing that while we all have our differences based on where we are from or our upbringing, it seems fairly universal that we all agree child abuse, whatever form it takes, is wrong.
I'm glad to see something coming of this, I made my one attempt and got essentially the same first response you did. I personally didn't know where to go from there. The sketchy whois info actually tells me whoever is doing it doesn't want to take credit for it either, which tells me they know it's wrong.
...just plain wrong. |

For those that may be interested I have had a reply from the Australian Communications and Media Authority and my interpretation of it is that they will be asking ISP`s to exclude Tinymodels and a few other sites related to it.
As the email (below) states they have also forwarded relevant info to the Dutch Cop`s.
This little mission is over for me now so thanks for all that helped.

Dear Mr Copperthwaite
I refer to the complaint that you lodged with the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) on 18 March 2010 about certain online content.
Following investigation of your complaint, the ACMA is satisfied that certain internet content specified in your complaint is hosted outside Australia, and that the content is prohibited content or potential prohibited content as defined by Schedule 7 to the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
The Internet Industry Association (IIA) has a code of practice (http://www.iia.net.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=415&Itemid=33) for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) which, among other things, sets out arrangements for dealing with such content. In accordance with the code, ACMA has notified the above content to the makers of IIA approved filters, for their attention and appropriate action.
On this occasion the ACMA has also referred the matter to the appropriate law enforcement agency.
Further content that was the subject of your complaint was found by the ACMA to be not prohibited or potential prohibited content as defined by the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (the Act). Information about the ACMA’s role in regulating online content (including internet and mobile content), including what is prohibited or potentially prohibited content is available at the ACMA’s website at www.acma.gov.au/hotline
Thank you for bringing this matter to the ACMA’s attention.
Please contact the Content Classification Section at online@acma.gov.au if you have any further questions about this matter.

I speak legaleze to a degree and this letter is saying that SOME of the content that you submitted violated there TOS but that some of them did not. tinymodels itself may not but the more explicit ones you'd mentioned may very well do so and be banned from the IP. I haven't checked out either site myself, I signed on blindly. As a victim of child molestation and child abuse you have my support and I will not only offer what knowledge of laws I do know but I will further research child laws as well as case studies regarding child pornography and try a different venue of approach. Everyone has been getting mad about these sites hosting these images and such but has anyone stopped to think for a moment that for these little girls to do this, there parents must sign a contract agreeing to let there children "model" for this "company?" I'd rather take this fight to the families. Even getting one of these girls off this site would be a big victory in this battle and would lay the groundwork for further litigation into shutting down these monsters. My prayers go out to these girls that they are just "modeling" and not victims of more insidious acts by those who should be protecting and nurturing them. |
