The word F**k

So what does the word f**k mean?
What does it mean to you?

Why do people get so offended when they here that word? What is so special about it, if no one really knows its true meaning/ origins.. What is there to be offended by? Just cause Cracker is a term used for white people, i cant say " mom please pass the crackers" ? Should I said " The salty pastry that is now hard and goes well with some cheese"

Why should TV shows be fined ~300000$ for just saying f**k once..

Its just ridicules..

The word f*ck to me means aggressive sex with an unconscious prostitute while high on crystal meth and crack addled.
If the word f*ck is followed by the word off or you, it means you should probably leave mean alone.

Right but why cant I say TURKEY OFF and it wont be as much as saying f**k OFF ?

The censor it because certain ppl cannot use the word f**k when it is appropriate. Half certain ppls posts were f**k this and f**k that, when there was no need. f**k was used for years on here as an expression, as part of getting a point across or in a joke, when it was appropriate.

yeah censorship is right in some cases,
but censorship empowers an otherwise useless word...

not that f**k is useless, seeing the george carlin threads recently reminds me of his 7 words one can't say on the radio and also the wondrous usage of the word "eff you see kay"

the word f**k can be used in many different ways and is a very versatile word.
here's a few.

suspicious of someone...........who the f**k are you

lost.........................................where the f**k am i

show your in trouble..............ooh i'm f**ked now

when panicing.........................lets get the f**k out of here

when resigned to a situation..aah f**k it

to be aggressive......................f**k you

to show suprise.......................ohhh f**k me

confused..................................what the f**k

dispair......................................f**ked again

denial.......................................i didn't f**king do it

apathy......................................who gives a f**k

and not one of them about sex.

I hate it when people use my family name in vain! Dad said to me the other day, "Dumb," he said, "don't stand for it when people use our great family name as a swear word! Anybody does, you tell me or your Uncle Bum, and we'll sort it out!"

But the idea is not How its used, its rather Why is it used..Why is a word that no definition other than the one we give it, give people so much offense?

The word comes from the German "ficken" which means to strike.

I like it as a word....surprisingly...for it's versatility and for it's ability to make it's point very clear. When you tell some one to f**k off, they know exactly what you mean regardless of language barriers, etc.

It's a beautiful word IMO, and should be used on a daily basis. If more politicians were honest enough to use the word the world would be a better place.

Well f**k me, if it aint trollster. How the f**k are ya doing man?

Unlike most English words, they are not sure where f**k originates from. They are also not sure if it was made up for a "cus" word or for the sex word. But because it is so intertwined, that's why its offensive. 100 years ago "damn" was offensive, but it wasn't a "cus" word because you didn't go home and damn the missus. Likewise we are used to sexual intercourse now due to the media and changing attitude, but when f**k originated it was considered a mortal sin except for breeding, hence linking the word to such a disgusting thing as what riff raff and whores do, it became a cus word.

Regardless of whether the Fornication Under Consent of the King , theory of origin is true (though I admit I have grave doubts as to sanity of men who require any kind of consent in this matter) I have always enjoyed Robin Williams take on the subject:
