Thought a quiz like this might be fun.
Post a question and see if any one can answer, if correctly answered post a new question (dont have to wait for a reply). If its been awhile someone else post one.
Heres a few examples:
Q - This band had a 1992 hit titled "Mr. Wendall".
A - Arrested Development
Q - How did Johnny Thunders die?
A - heroin overdose
Q - What song do these lyrics come from, "La la-la la la, Warm it up. Lala-lalala, The boys are waiting"?
A - Kelis - "Milkshake"
(something along these lines anyway...)
Ok I'll get the ball rolling with;
'I'd rather be in Tijuana, eating barbequed iguana.' Who sings that song? |

Stan Ridgeway is the singer and it is a Wall of Voodoo song. This is one of my favorite groups so that was pretty easy to answer.
OK, without going to Wikipedia, What was Elvis Costello's real name? |

Was hoping this thread would catch on. The third Pink Floyd movie was that one were they play a gig in that old roman amphitheater but I cant remember the name of it, and I wont look it up because that would be cheating.
@ Robmead- just noticed I am only 700 rep points behind you! |

none of those were official soundtracks...
the wall.. album made into a movie
obscured by clouds.. in a sense it was kind of a sound track but not recorded specifically for that
live at pompeii.. concert video.. sorta.. tho no people were there to watch it
im talkin an official score for a movie.. not associated with them
The Comittee 1968
More 1969
Zabriskie Point 1970 |

Grrrrrrrrrr..... we has all been toasted.
I shall now go and sulk in the corner for an hour.
sulked for about 3 seconds and decided I would track down these elusive artifacts from Pinks past. |

I was working for an exhibit company in Holland and Philips was our client for some 20 years already when the 1st Cd players were exhibited at shows across europe.
Philips designed it and Sony was the partner to sell it.
Sony therefore have the right to state 1st CD player on the market.
I remember a discussion about size as being related to 2 things.
it was decided about 60minutes of Audio but also size was important as the original Sony walkman had conquered the world.
There is also an urban legend/rumour that beethovens 9th would not fit so 120mm was chosen for the original 74minutes..
All I know for fact is that the 14mm hole in the center was the smallest hole technically viable then at the time to avoid wobble once the disk was spinning. The reason is that the CD or DVD or even todays Bluray read from the center out the motor needs to spin faster to obtain the smooth reading of the data. 14mm is therefore a technical limitation not a choice...... |
